VICTORIA TANTO
Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris in design, textiles and materials, Victoria Tanto first honed her skills in the world of miniatures, notably by collaborating with Chanel's set designers. There, she created delicate miniature vegetation for the models of haute couture fashion shows.
Her works, composed of kilometers of twisted and embroidered threads, play with textures and contrasts to create organic volumes. From threads that she patiently twists and assembles, she generates complex structures, reminiscent of maps of natural elements, both microscopic and monumental.
Alongside her personal approach, the call of the material pushes Victoria to extend her practice to the field of commissioned photography in order to support artists, artisans and cultural institutions in documenting their creative process.
