DRESSED MEMORY

PIERRE & FLORENT

Pierre & Florent

Office, October 28

To mark the opening of their new space, the 28 OCTOBRE firm is hosting the "Mémoire habillée" series by Pierre & Florent.

A window into the private lives of those who inhabit it, the series "Dressed Memory" lies at the crossroads of performance, documentary, and autofiction. Family, friends, and strangers have agreed to reveal a part of their lives through words, clothing, and objects, telling stories, questioning their connection to objects, to time, their relationship to their environment, their history, their self-image, and their place in society. Dressing is often about choosing how to present oneself to the world. Whether it's a profession, a sign of belonging, a disguise, camouflage, or even a political act, clothing is omnipresent in our lives. It says "something" about each of us that we try to control, but which sometimes eludes us. We accumulate clothes, accessories, and objects. They sometimes survive the ages, pass from hand to hand, are stored, piled up, often forgotten, but also rediscovered, rehabilitated, and even sacralized. To better reveal ourselves, we dress.

An exhibition produced with the support of the Saguez Foundation.
