At the boundary between art and scenography, Marion Flament creates installations and sculptures centered around the spaces she inhabits, the materials, and the light that permeates them. Light, as a tool for perceiving and understanding the world, plays a central role in her work.

The artist strives to reveal the materiality of matter by capturing essential moments of transition between two states. The artwork is the result of this change in nature and thus unveils a kind of fiction between two moments of reality. New scenarios—a different relationship to space and time—emerge with each new creation.

For the exhibition "Primary Materials," Marion Flament chose to present a series of four rosaries. These glazed earthenware pieces, sculpted to resemble the plant world, are suspended in space like vines. The installation comes alive by candlelight.

In the next room, two sculptures in natural stone and cast tin from the Castings series captivate with their anamorphic dimension. Molten metal poured into the cavities of the stones traces their imprint. Once hardened, it detaches from the rock and becomes its perfect counter-form. Finally, the three glimmers are painted with acrylic on wood before being burned. Transformed by the molten material, the work retains the trace of the transition between two states.
