IMPRESSIONISM - RESONANCES
SOLO SHOW
Jonathan Bertin
From November 15th to December 20th, 2025
For Photo Days , Galerie Porte B. presents Impressionism. Resonances , Jonathan Bertin's first major solo exhibition in Paris. Following its success at the Normandy Impressionist Festival and a six-month retrospective in Seoul in 2025, this presentation brings together for the first time his two major series: Impressionism and Seoul Impressionism .
From his native Normandy to the vibrant streets of Seoul, Jonathan Bertin weaves a dialogue between photography and painting. He captures scenes of life, landscapes, and ordinary moments, transforming them through blur, movement, and color into images that oscillate between immediate perception and memory. Attentive to details and the seemingly insignificant, he reveals the poetry of reality and creates visions where the world becomes blurred, shifts, and reinvents itself.
As Suzanne Vogel Tolstoï writes, for the Hermès Corporate Foundation: “Beyond the tribute, Jonathan Bertin offers us a version of what an impressionist view of today’s world might be. He maintains a very pictorial relationship with color, which he digitally reworks like a painter choosing his palette, in order to convey his wonder at the world while remaining faithful to reality.”
Between homage, reinterpretation and emancipation, Impressionism. Resonances unfolds as a vibrant ode to the ordinary, to its discreet magic, to the fleeting nature of moments, and to wonder.
