CECILE DAVIDOVICI
Cécile Davidovici is a Franco-Argentine visual artist renowned for her hyperrealistic embroideries, which explore memory and the intimate dimension of time. Her works capture everyday gestures and reveal their traces, connecting the present to what survives it.
Initially trained in film and theatre, she turned to textile art in 2018, following a bereavement, finding in embroidery a practice that is both tactile and meditative.
By layering cotton threads, she recreates effects of light, shadow, and texture, giving the embroidery an almost pictorial dimension. Fleeting gestures thus become thresholds to memory and the present.
Alongside her personal practice, she collaborates with the artist David Ctiborsky in the duo Davidovici and Ctiborsky.
