For the 8th edition of the A ppr oc he art fair, Benoît Lefeuvre presents Rooted for the first time, a series created from vernacular images of landscapes and forest details gleaned from the internet. Left in the ground, these silver gelatin negatives are transformed, reflecting how memory buries our recollections over time. The laser engraving of the photographs blends into the irregularity of the fungal matter, revealing hidden moments. Alongside this, he is exhibiting Mémoire de L'île d'Her, a triptych that extends the L'île d'Her series. This set of images, resulting from the transformation of photosensitive materials eroded by time, captures the essence of the marine environment where the memories of the previous series have been forgotten. Together, these two series explore memory and its connection to nature through organic and sensory processes.
