Jonathan Bertin
Resonances
From November 15 to December 20, 2025
On the occasion of Photo Days, the Galerie Porte B. presents Impressionism. Resonances, the first major solo exhibition in Paris by Jonathan Bertin. After the success at the festival Normandie Impressionist and a six-month retrospective in Seoul in 2025, this presentation brings together for the first time its two major series: Impressionism and Seoul Impressionism.
From his native Normandie to the vibrant streets of Seoul, Jonathan Bertin weaves a dialogue between photography and painting. He captures scenes of life, landscapes, and ordinary moments, transformed by blur, movement, and color into images that oscillate between immediate perception and memory. Attentive to details and the periphery, it reveals the poetry of the real and creates visions where the world becomes distorted, misaligned, and reinvented.
As Suzanne Vogel Tolstoï writes for the Hermès corporate Foundation:

"Beyond the tribute, Jonathan Bertin offers us a version of what an Impressionist view of today's world could be. He maintains a very pictorial relationship with color, which he digitally reworks like a painter chooses his palette, in order to convey his wonder at the world while remaining faithful to reality."
Between homage, reinterpretation, and emancipation, Impressionism. Resonances unfolds as a vibrant ode to the ordinary, its subtle magic, the fleeting nature of moments, and the wonder.
