A PPR OC HE - BENOIT LEFEUVRE
On the occasion of the 8th edition of the A ppr oc he exhibition, Benoît Lefeuvre presents for the first time Rooted, a series made from vernacular images of landscapes and forest details gleaned from the internet. Left in the earth, these silver negatives are transformed, reflecting how memory buries our memories over time. The laser engraving of the photographs blends into the irregularity of the fungal matter, revealing hidden moments. At the same time, he is exhibiting Mémoire de L'île d'Her, a triptych that extends the L'île d'Her series. This set of images, resulting from the transformation of photosensitive media eroded by time, captures the essence of the marine environment where the memories of the previous series have been forgotten. Together, these two series explore memory and its anchoring in nature through organic and sensory processes.
